How it Got Started

This idea of examining the educational learning implicit within entrepreneurial culture began during my participation in a research project called “The Hip-Hop Literacy Project.” This project was funded by the Spencer Foundation in an effort to support research that identified the ways in which Hip-Hop culture, specifically its literacy ethos could promote educational success among youth with a passion for Hip-Hop. While the literacy learning was impressive and well documented, it was the entrepreneurial ethos of Hip-Hop which helped the students to appreciate the educational learning necessary to help them achieve their dreams as it related to the music and entertainment industries.

About entrepreneuriallearning

I am an innovative educator from Newark, DE who is ever seeking more effective ways to successfully reach those students who are perennially underserved by our educational system and whose needs don't even make it into mainstream educational discourse.
